Species conservation and agriculture
For many years, there has been a steady decline in biological diversity (biodiversity) in agricultural areas. However, biodiversity is the basis for important ecosystem services, such as soil fertility, pollination and pest control. In order to stop the loss of species, agriculture, nature conservation and environmental protection must work together to find ways to preserve and increase biodiversity in the agricultural landscape.
